Welcome to the Goodstadt Gallery, the new

virtual gallery of George J. Goodstadt Inc.

Fine Arts Publisher since 1969

We have created this virtual gallery so that we may share the rich and varied inventory of George J. Goodstadt Inc.

Our publications (prints) have been produced with the highest quality and we have earned a reputation in the art world for professionalism and a degree of excellence in lithographic printmaking. All artwork was hand pulled on heavy 100% acid free Arches or Rives paper.

We do not sell Giclées or any other reproductions.

Much of the works we have published are limited edition lithographs and etchings printed at Bank Street Atelier in New York City, the renowned print shop founded by George in 1969. Bank Street proved to be one of the premier printing studios in the city at that time and became a major graphic center, where many of the American Modern Masters came to experiment on the large stones and print their work on the three old genuine flatbed presses. They were helped by the many master printers working there.

Some familiar artists who printed their work at Bank Street include, Alexander Calder, Willem deKooning, Red Grooms, Frank Stella, Romare Bearden, Jasper Johns, Fairfield Porter, James Rosenquist, Philip Perlstein, Alex Katz and Al Hirschfeld, just to name a few.

George developed long, lasting friendships with many of the artist at Bank Street and they produced many fine hand signed prints together during those exciting years.

We offer a selection of Alexander Calder hand signed limited edition lithographs from the 1970’s, when George was Calder’s American publisher, as well as the vivid plate signed lithographs from the Flying Colors collection, commissioned by Braniff Airlines in 1973.

Also available is the wonderful and whimsical art of Al Hirschfeld. These works span from 1969 until 2002, during which time George and Al formed a rewarding professional relationship as well as a trusting personal friendship. These limited edition etchings and lithographs are all hand signed by Al Hirschfeld and offered EXCLUSIVELY by us.

Lithography is an ancient printing process, but it was Toulouse-Lautrec, through his color lithography, who elevated it to a true art form. We are pleased to offer a unique selection of 11 of the most popular posters from the 1890’s. These limited editions posters are not the original posters, however, they are the only posters which have been authorized by the Musée Toulouse-Lautrec in Albi, France. (Musée d’Albi)

George’s earlier years at NASA gave him unique access to the space programs and as a result, the special Apollo XIII and XIV lithographs, signed by the astronauts which we also have available.

During the process of opening up and making more of our inventory available to you, we hope that you enjoy exploring these pages and that you will come back again to see our new additions.

We welcome you to reach out to us with any comments, questions or concerns you might have.
